I saw both demons and demons 2...
I MAY be confused between them, but I THINK the first one was set in a cinema...can't remember HOW exactly the demons came about, I remember not thinking i was all THAT great, but it was alright. A few pretty gory effects, interesting makeup, poor as shit acting.
It's very "80's horror", gruesome, but not a great plotline, if you're into that kinda thing, I suppose it may be just worth checking out.
I THINK I personally preferred the second one, but this WAS quite a few years ago...

first film set in a cinema, mysterious man (michele soavi) is handing out tickets to a showing of a film, the film shows some kids finding a mask putting it on and scratching themselves......which leads to the transformation into the demon. unfortunately a character in the film had done this with a mask in the lobby of the cinema so she becomes possessed and mayhem reigns.

the sequel is set in a block of flats, demon come out of tv, attacks a woman, she becomes demon, attacks everyone at her party, mayhem reigns...

Yeah, it's really good. The look, especially, is great. Sometimes the violence is almost funny in how it's used. There's a part where a possessed girl (the first one, I think) jumps up behind another character, scalps them, and runs away. She doesn't bite them or stab them or really try to KILL them, just rips their scalp partially off and runs away. Might not sound funny, but it's friggen hilarious when it happens.

Oh, and the pimp is almost as awesome as Ash. "Oh, shit, another door!" *smashes the door down* :D :D

Agreed! These movies are great! I got them both on a 2 disc box set.

Sam's right, they're funny as hell, but also gruesomely gory in a hilarious way. The plot and acting is cheesy, but it works because the whole movie is really. The gore's over the top, which is always entertaining.

The 1st is better than the 2nd, but they both have their moments.

Certainly worth a rent. You probably won't be disappointed.

Demons and Demons 2 were some of the first horror movies I ever saw. I was only about 11 or 12 when I saw them and now I can't find them in any video stores, and I have looked everywhere. They were great movies. First one in a cinema, second one at a girl's birthday pary (I think it was her 16th) in a high-rise apartment building. I would love to get a copy of them. They were really cool movies !!

Here ya go. That's the same Out Of Print DVD set I got. It's kind of expensive, but it's the only one on eBay. The good news is that the seller will ship to Australia.

:D
