Lightbulb Goodreads Top Horror 2014

Goodreads.com has released the top vote-getters for this year's Horror books.

http://www.goodreads.com/choiceaward...ror-books-2014

Top 5:

1) Prince Lestat - Anne Rice

2) The Girl With All The Gifts - M.R. Carey

3) The City - Dean Koontz

4) The Winter People - Jennifer McMahon

5) Bird Box - Josh Malerman

I confess I haven't read any of the books on the list. Was this a down year for horror lit? Not a big Anne Rice fan but wonder if the Koontz book is any good (I find him to be either hit or miss).

I distrust any horror list that includes Koontz, and usually that includes Rice. Though The Girl With All the Gifts sounds very interesting. Its on my list to read.
