Bored

Hey peeps, haven't been on here in a billion years. What's new? Throw some cool shit to check out my way, I'm bored out of my mind and drinking. :)

Yeah I don't come around to much myself any more. Ever since i moved to Ohio a few months ago this place has gone downhill.

I feel for you older members, it was pretty quiet when I arrived here (and that was over a year ago).

What was it like when some of you were racking up posts in the tens of thousands? How can you get that back?

I've been a member of another forum that passed its "glory days" and it sucks but, what can you do?

Who knows...I've never really let it get to me at all...my post count between this and two other accounts would likely be over 10k, but it's just not a big deal for me how much traffic this place gathers.

Sure I guess there were times I posted a lot more, times that I was between work and study, but I dunno...I've always just thought of it as a place that I could come and either post, or not.
So it dying down is a bit shit I guess, (would be moreso if I were to have made it more than it is/was to myself) and I do miss hearing from some of the absent members I've had good conversations with in the past - but in terms of what you can do about it?
Nothing really.
You can just keep popping in, talking when you want to, checking things out...
Try making a new thread on for size if you haven't?
Even go through threads that were made prior to your arrival at the forum
and resurrect some if they're worth talking about?
I've always thought that our "Last seen movie/tv show" and "Last played game" threads could be a little bit more review-like in nature...I find their level of detail pretty lacking for one.
Not saying yourself or anyone posting here is guilty of that (I don't really take notice), I probably am myself...but yeah that's one thing that I have always thought had a little bit of room for improvement.
Say what's on your mind, don't ponder, ask questions - There's always gonna be at least some kind of reply.

For me, the place is "enough" even when it's not booming.
These days I come in a little less than when I had less "life stuff" to do, but I'll always be around, lurking or posting, reading or writing so to speak.
There's always other forums if you don't get your complete fix here - if you meet someone that you think might be interested, tell them to come check out hdc, might be a good way to inject some conversation or new users.

It used to be really crazy around here. Tons of great regulars around all the time. Lots of different projects and so on. Like I've said before, it really felt like a community.
But I also agree with Cheebs; even though this place isn't booming anymore, it's still enough for me to check in a few times a day and post a few times. And who knows, this place has cycled around before, so we may have another heyday at HDC in the future.

Hacelikewhoa, good to see you back. Check out (just looking at the pile of DVDs next to me): Island of Lost Souls, Ugetsu, new Jean Rollin DVDs: Fascination, Shiver of the Vampires, The Iron Rose.
The Innkeepers is new, and I really liked that.

Welcome back. Evidently you're not on Facebook or you wouldn't have returned. Seems everyone who left here did so for the greener grass behind the barn.
