Hidden Gems?? The 1980s

Films from the 1980s that I haven't seen, that didn't make the HDC lists, that have an IMDB rating of 6.5 or higher. Any great classics in here?

Laurin (1989)
Anguish (1987)
Deja Vu (1987)
The Fourth Man (1983)
Angst (1983)
Pin (1988)
We're Going To Eat You (1980)
The 'burbs (1989)
The Company Of Wolves (1984)
Stagefright (1987) (#6 - Roshiq's Top Giallos)
White Dog (1982)
The Hidden (1987)

Any you're familiar with, like or hate, I'd like to hear about.

The 'Burbs: Quality comedy. Great cast, great characters. The set, directing and characters all help to bring a slightly surreal feel to what is essentially a fun comedy with dark tones. With so many negative reviews out there, its hard to really recommend this one, but personally I'm a huge fan of this one and think its hugley underappreciated. Quirky, creative and bags of fun.

The Hidden: 80's sci-fi classic. Must watch.

White Dog: Solid 'message' movie. Not a great film, but poses some interesting questions. Worth a watch.

Thanks Straker. I don't know how I missed The 'burbs and The Hidden; they both look great. White Dog worries me. If the dog dies, I'll freak.:(

.
Agreed..

I like White Dog alot but I'm a bit Sam Fuller fan..

Anguish (1987) - Wasn't mad about this.

Pin (1988) - Creepy/underated film - check it out.

We're Going To Eat You (1980) Crazy kung-fu cannibal comedy by Tsui Hark. Kinda like a martial arts Indiana Jones played for laughs.

The Company Of Wolves (1984) - Cool Adult fairy tale consisting of a number of storys.

Stagefright (1987) Excellent Slasher

Weirdly neither seen or heard of these:

Laurin (1989)
Deja Vu (1987)
The Fourth Man (1983)
Angst (1983)

Pin (1988)....A beautiful psychological horror film. Loved it.
Stagefright (1987)...It's no. 6 in my Top Giallos list.

I've read pretty good things about the following two; looking forward to see them soon:

The Company Of Wolves (1984)
White Dog (1982)

Yeah, I second all the remarks mentioned above regarding 'The 'Burbs'. I would say it was made in the same spirit as Beetlejuice and Haunted Honeymoon - spooky comedy.
