Fallout New Vegas Preview

http://kotaku.com/5530358/fallout-ne...dinky--tabitha

I was a HUGE fan of Fallout 3, so I really hope that this is just as good. Sounds like it takes a lot from the previous Fallout games, which I haven't played, but it keeps the VATS of Fallout 3, which is good for those of us who can't shoot. :o

I know people are skeptical about this coming out "so soon" after Fallout 3, but, honestly, I can't get enough of this game - I really hope that New Vegas is as fulfilling as Fallout 3.

Any thoughts? Excitement? Trepidation?

As long as there is plenty of Fallout styled wasteland and plenty of characters and side quests this will be a hit with me. A quality post apocalyptic wasteland is about all they need to deliver to keep me happy. Would be nice to see everything taken up a notch and even more depth, but what I have seen so far it looks like its going to be another quality game. Customizable weapons will be cool and I am pretty excited about the companion wheel too.

I feel the exact same way. Give me a post-apocalyptic wasteland and some new weapons and beasties and I'll be happy (ok; I'll need a good plot and entertaining side quests too)... I'm pretty psyched about the customizable weapons myself... Never really got into the whole build-your-own weapons in Fallout 3...

I'm RIDICULOUSLY excited about this. I'm on Level 30 in Fallout 3 and hitting the ceiling really kills it for me (and I've already started from the beginning twice now). I'm ready for more wasteland action. I hope that there are little tie-ins to Fallout 3, like you can listen to the radio station and hear about the exploits of your previous character, which would vary based on how you played the game... That would be brilliant...

I have pretty much gotten to the point where I've killed Fallout 3 now. I have started from scratch a good few times. I still like just wandering round the game though. I know the story is not a follow on from 3, but I'm still expecting alot of references throughout from the whole series. I'm hoping the difficulty is cracked up in a decent way rather than just the 'die in one hit' style that most games opt for when cranking the difficulty. Either way, if the environment and music is right this game is gonna be quality.

OK. So I'm not generally into "Collector's Editions," but I REALLY want this:

I missed out on the Fallout 3 Bobblehead and lunchbox. I think I might have to get them from eBay. :o

Seen quite a few photos from an X-vbox magazine at my local Shopper's Drug mart I was interested mainly because around Christmas of 2008 I purchased Fallout 3 for the X-box 360, and played it and completed the story line and did quite a bit of exploring throughout the general capital Wasteland, took a trip through "The Pitt" in Pittsburgh, Operation Anchorage "Anchorage Alaska in the year 2077" and even went to space in "Mothership Zeta" Oh, and got to the airforce base the Enclave were operating out of from "Broken Steel" Can't waste to travel through post apocalyptic Las Vegas, always wanted to vacation there. :P

Haven't picked it up yet but plan on it. I loved Fallout 3 but like Crono I didn't play the first 2.
