Marvel Digital Comics

Just subscribed to this service.

I'll have to say, I love it. I love comics, but I don't buy many anymore. I'll admit, I still love having my hard copies, but the digital format is very convenient. It's easy to read once you get used to it, and they have over 5,000 comics available right now.

I'm reading the Planet Hulk series as we speak. The price isn't bad at all ($55 a year) and you can read from any compy. This is my first real delve into digital reading that I've paid for. It's made me think again about buying a Kindle.

Anyone else tried this service?

I don't pay for the service, but my boyfriend gave me a few folders full of comics. Marvel Civil War, Planet Hulk, WWHulk and Aftersmash (He loves Hulk). They are some special file like a really nice quality pdf, and you can only read them with CDReader.

Just thought you should think about reading Civil War before you get any farther into Planet Hulk because I'm under the impression that they mesh. You need to know stuff from Civil War to understand all of Planet Hulk, and then after Planet Hulk is World War Hulk, and then Aftersmash.

Yeah I used to torrent the comics but I forgot what to search for so I stopped.

On topic, I'd prolly have to see what comics they have, but I'm a marvel fan so I'm thinking about it.

Reading without actual holding? Madness! I own a small collection of comic books and very much enjoy reading them, but reading from a computer? The very idea makes me shudder!
Also, hate Marvel love DC.

I'm with you on both points here. Marvel is kids stuff compared to DC, and straight up DC is kids stuff compared to their Vertigo line or any indie comics.

As for liking to have the trade paper backs, I agree but there's only so much you can do as a comic fan and student paying their own tuition. If I can afford the actual thing at the time I will buy it but if not I don't mind downloading in the meantime. It's just like movies and novels, Love em and I will buy them when I have money.

<3 Vertigo! The only reason I even like comic books is the series 'Preacher'. Read it, I trust?
