The Slasher Sequence - The Mutilator (1985)

Scene taken from: The Mutilator (1985)

The Mutilator is infamous for having some ultra-violent kills, that's for damn sure. The uncut version delivers but watch out for the R-rated cut because it really is mutilated in every sense of the word. Almost all the gory goodness is hacked out, leaving fans with that cheated, unfinished feeling.

The massacre is set at a beach house, with the trademark weapon in the film being a mean-looking fishing gaff. This giant hook can be seen on the classic VHS cover art, stealing the show from word go. Part of the satisfaction found in watching slashers for me is seeing which weapon the killer will use next, especially when it's something that hasn't yet been thought of or is rarely ever seen.

the sequence with the gaff always makes me cringe, and of all the people i've ever watched that movie with...every single one has made some sort of audible groan. quite gross. i sort of get a kick out of how evil that killer is. he puts this girl through such a gruesome and painful experience only to chop her head off when all is said and done. what a jerk.
