Trick R Treat

I've been waiting for this movie for over a year now and I finally got to see it. Someone please explain the fascination with this movie. The reviews have been off the wall but personally I was dying for the movie to end. It was not what I expected at all, way too corny for my taste. The character development was intelligent but that is the only good thing I have to say really......

It looks and sounds pretty good. It's meant to be cheesy, a typical Halloween film. Not overly clever with all of the stories.

I absolutely loved the movie. I had been waiting 2 years to see it and i wasn't disappointed at all. I knew going into the movie that it was gonna be a camp fest and that's exactly why i enjoyed it so much. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it's just a great popcorn horror flick that you can throw in during october and just have fun while watching it. It's definitely in my top 5 movies to watch during the Halloween season, but if you went into it expecting to be scared i can see why you might not enjoy it a whole lot.

There seems to be 2 feelings toward this film, most people either love it or were flat out disappointed. For me, the people who enjoyed it are probably the same people who grew up watching creepshow, tales from the darkside, tales from the crypt, etc. Great horror movies full of dark humor. If you've never seen any of those movies or aren't a fan of them, then yes, you probably won't enjoy Trick 'R Treat.

Go back and give it a second watch and instead of looking for scares look for all the dark humor in it.

POSSIBLE SPOILER*********************************

the scene where sam slides across the floor and hits the wall, i laughed my ass off. It reminded me of the story 'fathers day' from creepshow when they do a flashback of aunt bedilias fiance's 'hunting accident' So funny.

I adore this film because it made me feel like a 10 year-old going out trick or treating on Halloween.

The art direction alone makes it the most Halloween-y film ever made. Wonderful stuff made specifically for the Halloween-loving kid inside you.

If you have no youthful wonderment left inside you, you'll not enjoy the film.

I can't wait to see it, I've had it for about a week but I'm being forced to wait until Halloween.
