In case nobody noticed...

...today is Friday the 13th. (so whats special about that, you ask?)

The 2nd time this year.

(First one was last month, when the Friday the 13th remake released)

Coincidentally, a third Friday the 13th awaits in November this year, which makes 2009 one of those rare and unusual years in which we will have THREE Friday the 13ths.

So...will it be a more unlucky year than any other, previous or to come? Wait and see.

The superstition doesn't add up in this case, V. In Hebrew numerology, separate digits of a number are added up to determine whether numbers are lucky. 1+3+2+0+0+9=15, which is then reduced to 1+5 which equals six, the number of contentment. Individual dates 2+1+3+2+0+0+9=17 1+7=8, the number of material success and one more than that, this being March=9, the number of completion and excellence. So, while Hebrew numerology calls the 13 the number of the defects and death by itself out of context, in context, it can be a good omen. So, those of you who are superstitious keep this bigger, fancier, more elaborate superstition in mind. Also keep in mind, 2009 comes out to the master number 11 numerologically. While this number does connote martyrdom, it also connotes a high spiritual calling and genius. A good year for those of in the arts, academics or clergy.

Very interesting, Doc. The next time this happens is in 2015 (same months as this year)...then 2026 (same months again).

Weird coincidence...

Anyway, what about the other date of this year?

It comes in November, thus, because digits get reduced, it adds up to the same. But, the month of November like that of February in 2009 is unlucky. While the 1+1+2+0+0+9 is not then reduced to 4, some numerologists still look into the 13 as a bad omen or a symbol of dramatic and difficult change. This also connects to the tarot, where the 13th trump is none other than Death, which signifies abrupt change, not always terrible, but always sudden and always shocking. July 13th however, is going to be a master number day, so be on the lookout for strong positive resonances. 22 is the greatest of numbers in Hebrew numerology. 7+1+3+2+0+0+9 equals 22, which is the number of mastery and harmony, in the tarot deck it is represented by the World, the most positive and beautiful of all the cards.

British people all count as Academics. With the exception of Amy Winehouse.
