The Penumbra Collection
Penumbra Collection is to be released February 17th on the PC only.
The Collection consists of the 2 and only games in the Penumbra family, Penumbra Overture, and Penumbra Black Plague. And you can get the Collection including both games for only $19.99. Penumbra Overture was released in March of 2007, and critics were very impressed by the game. With a great story, and a truly survival horror atmosphere it really make such a dark game shine. In Penumbra Overture Philip Buchanan who, following his mother’s death, receives a letter from his supposedly dead father, a man who left before he was even born, his reasons for doing so a mystery leaving Philip with many unanswered questions. The letter and those questions lead Philip to the arctic wastes of Greenland, to a location mentioned in his father’s ambiguous note and the beginning of our adventure as he begins to uncover disturbing facts about his past that not only affect himself, but all of mankind. IGN had nothing but good to say about the game and awarded it a respectable 7/10, same with Gamespot who gave it 7.8/10. Penumbra Black Plague was released in February of 2008 and ended up being a bigger hit than the original. It continues where Overture left off, as Philip is still in search of his supposedly dead father. Trapped in a shadowy underground complex, he is determined to discover the truth behind his father’s disappearance. Surrounded by enemies and assaulted by terror from all sides, the player must collect clues and solve vexing physics based puzzles while combating the gnawing psychological terrors that assail Philip’s mind and threaten to strip him of his sanity. 1up awarded Black Plague with an 8.5/10 rating, and now you can get both of these critically acclaimed games for only 20 bucks. Can't beat that!
