Police search for dog griller

Jonesboro police were searching Monday for a suspect who killed a dog, then skinned the animal and cooked the cut-up pieces on a barbecue grill.

Justin Spencer, 26, 1830 East Johnson Ave., Jonesboro, reported the abuse of a Chow Chow dog at 500 West Elm at 10:04 p.m. Sunday.

Spencer told police that he overheard a named suspect say he had killed the dog by beating it with a shovel, processed it and ate the canine.

Spencer further told police that he did not believe the suspect until he and others found the paws of the animal simmering on the grill.

The suspect also told Spencer that he hung the dead animal on a ladder where he processed it, prior to cooking.

Police were searching for the suspect Monday afternoon.
