Dario Argento Film Advice

I own a few Dario argento DVD's (Suspiria, Tenebrae, Deep Red, Sleepless, Terror at the Opera and Inferno) and was wondering if anyone can recommend any other Argento directe films such as The Stendhal Syndrome, Bird with the Crystal Plumage or Cat O'Nine Tails.
Cheers
:D

I'm not big on Argento, but may I suggest Two Evil Eyes. It's two different stories, one directed by Romero, the other by Argento.

The Stendhal Syndrome is my favourite.

You own most of his best stuff (and his worst, Sleepless), but Bird With The Crystal Plumage is very important not only in the Argento canon but in the history of the giallo. Creepers (now called Phenomenon) is probably his most ambitious movie to date, though it doesn't always hit the mark.

Cat O' Nine Tails is more of espionage thriller than a horror movie, and Four Flies isn't great but worth a look.

The first half of Stendahl is cool, but then it becomes so disjointed (almost like two different movies) that is seems to go on forever. A lot of critics trashed Trauma upon its original release, even guys like Doug E Winter, but now they seem to be praising it instead of hating it. I always thought it was cool, and Argento's always been proud of it, and the decapitaion machine is just weird.

Two Evil Eyes is worth a watch as a curio, but you've seen this kind of material done better in a hundred different movies. Even Romero's half falls flat.

Phantom of the Opera, like Sleepless, is just pitiful.

i personally liked Stendahl. Its not a typical Argento film but it has many elements of some of his earlier films. If youre interested you can check out a review I wrote here www.horrorheads.net/stendahl

the wax mask is worth checking out if you like Argento as well. A weird trippy film
