I thought that this book was excellent. Did anyone else?

I'm reading it right now and think its great. The monster in print is completely opposite from the one on film, virtually an amalgam of Spider-Man and Peter Parker with his enhanced strength, ability to climb sheer cliffs and run "with the swiftness if lightning" and learn to speak, read, and write by watching others through a crack in the wall. And when he doesn't get what he wants Frankenstein's "fiendish adversary" is one of the most vicious in literature.

It's a wonderful piece of fiction that should be taught in classrooms. Shelley was an interesting character to say the least.

It was taught in my classroom...junior year. Although the version of the movie we watched...many disaproved...it wasn't the black and white version...it was in color...However I'm thinking it was a satire of Frankenstein because of the melodramatic aspects that were in it. I'm trying to remember who directed so you guys can tell me if they were really "trashing" Shelley's masterpiece. All I rememeber that the title was called: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Lousy Branagh. Thinks he's the boss of literature. Well he ain't the boss of me.

Do all you guys really dislike Branaughs Frankenstein that much? I actually thought it was okay. Better than Wolf, IMHO.

I didn't really hate it, but it's far from great. Everything about it is over-the-top and super melodramatic, but it still tries to take itself seriously.
