Phil Rickman
I've recently been turned on to Phil Rickman's great ghost stories. They are very old school...think if Agatha Christie wrote ghost stories. Very atmospheric. All of them take place in Wales and there are lots of medieval buildings, etc. He has several stand alone books, then there is a series of books featuring Merrily Watkins who is a female, anglican vicar that serves as the exorcist for the Church of England. If you really enjoy the old style ghost story with country settings and fuedal curses, you might want to give them a try.

i read a few or james herbert 's books haunted...there is a movie too moon the ghosts of sleuthe
