The Omen (2006)

I've never particularly been a fan of remakes. They rarely improve on the original, and I tend to interpret them as an indication that people are simply running out of good movie ideas.

I saw the Omen remake last night and was not expecting much. I figured it might work as an update of the original - modernizing it without changing too much. Although it appeared that this was what they were going for, the movie did nothing for me. I've always liked the original, but this one just didn't have the same creepy atmosphere. Not only did I not find it at all scary, but it was actually boring.

Enough with the remakes.

Dammit! I think I have brain damage or something that keeps me posting in the wrong section. I swear I thought this was going in modern horror.

Didn't like this at all.

Julia Stiles was terribly miscast.

I didn't have a problem with this one because I didn't LOVE the original. But it seriously misses the old soundtrack. It was the music in the original that scared me as a kid.

Im planning to buy the new Omen boxset, so I'll see this one soon.

Ive actually njever seen the original...was going to buy it awhile back, but then I read about this new boxset, which has the original, + the sequels, + the remake, for about $10 more than it would cost for just the original.

I think Im gonna pick it up next week sometime.

This was one of the worst horror movies I've seen in a long time. At least the poster was cool.... I'll own that instead of the DVD.
