I rented "Creep" a couple months ago. And I loved it. It's one of the best horror movies, I have ever seen. I haven't heard a lot of horror fans talk about it. But this film will be a cult classic in 10 years. The movie starts a little slow but the pace picks up and runs away.
I HIGHLY recommend "Creep". Rent it or Buy. If your a true horror fan you'll enjoy this. ![]() |

saw this one in theatres sometime ago. despite the idiots in the theatre, i really enjoyed it. i love how the whole movie just shifts. at first you're in the girl's world, then in his (and the transition is excellent and very freaky).
good you brought this up. i would like to see people discussing this one as well.

Creep
First off, I’d like to say that I was going into this movie expecting a lot from it after all of the reviews I’ve read. I’ll go ahead and say that I was a bit on the disappointed side. It has a pretty quick start, but it slowly starts going downhill. Basically, the lead woman falls asleep before her subway train is supposed to pick her up, and as you can probably guess, she misses it and gets stuck inside of the subway building. After seeing that all of the doors are locked and almost being raped by a friend (who also gets pretty slashed up at the beginning), she finds a couple of homeless people who live in a small compartment inside the main building. Trying to find a security guard to get out, she loses her guide, and is forced to survive the best that she can throughout the movie. It turns into something kind of like The Hills Have Eyes half way through it, but the sad thing is that it never really explains why the creature is the way he is. It never says if he was a doctor or a child that was murdered by the doctor. Nothing is ever explained before the credits roll, and it mostly just leaves you hanging in the balance of confusion. Not something that horror films of this style should do. The acting was decent, but for whatever reason, I didn’t really care for the actors in the film. They got into the story, and they seemed like they really were in danger, but for some reason, it just didn’t feel right. I don’t know if it was maybe the fact that I’ve never seen these particular actors in any other movies besides this one. I just couldn’t get into it. As far as being scary, it was a little on the spooky side with some odd images and emotions in some of the scenes, and there were a few scenes that made me even jump a little. One of the scarier scenes being where doctor is preparing for surgery in the medical room. It just had a disturbing feeling. It’s far from being the scariest movie ever made, but it has its moments. Another thing is that as fast moving as this film actually is, it was actually quite boring to me. Usually I’m a fan of fast paced slasher films and such, but this movie just couldn’t hold my attention. If it had been maybe quite a bit shorter, it may have been a lot better. But the fast pacing stretched out over the eighty some odd minutes just was too long. They crammed too much action into the time given, and not enough story to make it hold your attention. I caught myself looking away from the TV set numerous times. My final word on this is that it was an okay film overall, needs more substance and less action in my opinion, but it won’t kill you to watch it. Good movie if you want to get a few frights, but you may want to stretch it out over a couple of evenings, because it’s not going to hold your attention all at once. Story: 4/10 Gore: 5/10 Acting: 5/10 Scares: 5/10 Overall: 5/10 |

I really, really enjoyed Creep. I would go as far as saying it is one of the best horror movies I have had the pleasure of watching this year.
I also don't understand why more people don't talk about this film, but I would guess that's because not a lot have watched it. If you do have a chance, definately check it out. I would go as far as saying - go out of your way to see it. It's yet another example of why UK horror is becoming the new J-Horror. Unlike VampiricClown, I felt the film worked on all levels. The acting was very strong for a film of this status, even the smaller roles such as the homeless female. Even the dog played a good part, hehe. They genuienly looked frightened; and the screams sounded real. Very strong performances, and the fact I am unfamiliar with the people playing the roles made it that much stronger for me. The style of the film is also something to note on. The direction is very well done, and every shot pours style. It reall adds to the atmosphere of the film, which is great. It's one of those films that doesn't require darkness to create an aura that is eerie. A brightly (very brightly) lit subway with white walls and lime green lights manages to give you the chills. There were some unique camera angles in there as well. The creature was very well designed, and similiar to those in The Descent. Though I felt this one was designed a lot better. More realistic, and they didn't rely on CGI. It even had tuffs of hair, and a human-face. It's mannerism, movements, and expecially the sounds it made were some key elements. When it mimiced a voice; I got chills. The room just drained of warmth. I think it meant to be confusing. It was a film that required thought, and I believe that when a film like this does that - it's a good thing. That means it's trying. It doesn't want to just create some schlock&stock film that you can sit down brainlessly at. The scene with it in the washing it's hand, and acting everything out despite nothing working anymore was so powerful to me. The ending is, imo, the strongest part of the film. It was just so...perfect. It was so much more then just an ending to a b-movie; it was a critique on social ettiqutte. It's a reccomendation for me. |

I nearly fell asleep really. I don't know why, but this movie just lost all attention lasting qualities for me.
Deffinetly not something I look forward to watching again. |

dude... it's an hour and a half. 85 minutes to be precise. how is that too long ? you say it doesn't explain how he got the way he is... well maybe if the movie had been a bit longer (and not shorter), it would've gotten into his whole background some more, though it is suggested. eh... i enjoyed it. i thought it was one of the better horror films to come out.
