al Zarqawi Thread

To the moderators:-

Why was the thread on Abu Musab al Zarqawi closed today?

Have you deleted a post that might explain it?

There does not seem to be any reason for closing a thread on such a serious and important political matter, yet allowing petty and trite threads to remain.

Maybe because it was the perfect opportunity for spammers to strike? If I were you, I would have PM'ed a mod instead of making a pointless thread on it. Just a thought! =)

I was wondering that myself. Although it was full of a lot of 'I'm glad the fucker's dead' type posts, it was still a reasonable topic that deserved attention. I know I'm not the sole person upon which offense is gauged, but I found nothing offensive from what I read.

Not a very good one - this kind of action needs explaining publicly, for the harmony of the board.

This place seems fairly nice. But, it does sound weird to say that there's harmony on a horror site. Shouldn't we all be bitching and cutting off newbies? Oops.

You might be what you eat, but you aren't what you watch.

If you are, you want locking up.

Could have been a few things:

Me saying something that would cause shit, and it could be the picture of the guy dead.

And in the case of al Zarqawi, it is especially satisfying that he has been killed so any emotion is perfectly natural.

If you have seen the 'beheading' video, you will agree it focuses a lot of vengeful rage against this man. Manipulated or not, Berg still appeared on it and was still killed - al Zarqawi was reportedly responsible.

The manipulated beheading video your talking about is of Daniel Pearl not Nick Berg. When slitting his throat a technical error occured, causing them to not capture it on film. After fixing the problem they filmed someone cutting his head off, of course he was already dead by then. The man responsible for Pearl's kidnapping/murder is Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, chief of military operations for al Qaeda at the time, not Zarqawi.
