Definitely. It's more than a motif, really. He kind of created a strong backbone for the film. At any rate, it's powerful.

Ah, I didn't know that some of Bergman Island wasn't included in the Seventh Seal re-issue. That's really disappointing.

The special features are great. Some in-depth interviews with appreciators of the film and people that worked on it, and a lot of digging-into the film, which is especially great with a work like Salo.

That's an amazing article! I didn't realize that Salo was so high-brow, I always heard it was smutty. I think I will have to see it now, at least for the Giotto references! :p

Also, I'd love to pick up the Criterion release of Joan of Arc, but I was really trying to limit myself. It hard because there are so many great releases that they have done.

My box from Barnes and Nobles arrived yesterday and I started with the Red Shoes and watch a bit this morning with breakfast. The cinematography is just amazing. I almost wish now that I picked up the Black Narcissus.

Yeah, it's one of those movies I just stupidly hadn't picked up yet. It's been some time since I saw it last, so I'll probably post a review once I watch it.
