A theory about cat-haters:-
Using the "dog or cat" play-offs pet owners are so fond of, it seems the constant slobbering affection afforded by canines is what clinches it. Unconditional love... pandering to "the master". Cats, however, operate on their own terms - giving and receiving affection when it suits them, not the "owner". Because cats are not so predictable and don't do what you want, the sense of control is lost and the cat is sly, calculating and vicious (for they excellent independent hunter/killers). Therefore a man prefers a dog as his companion, as it makes him feel more important. One wonders if he might carefully choose a wife for the same reason?
