Bug (2006)

I thought this was pretty damn good. It was based off a play, and has this nice simplistic quality to it, and it's pretty squeamish as well. The ending needed a little more of an oomph. Not Billy Friedkin's best, but not a bad flick.

Shrooms

The good thing is there is no flesh eating giant killer shrooms...as I doubted first;)
But the shrooms have some effects on the person who else eats them! Like having foresight (seeing the future.... or even who the next victim will be!?!), or sometimes open a portal to another dimension.... mainly hallucination.
Overall, it’s a mediocre slasher flick with a fair ending.

Resident Evil Extinction. Definitely better than part 2.

First Blood (1982)

It's really a great action flick pulsing with rediculously non-stop adrenaline and plenty of gritty violence.

Hillside Cannibals

I got this a week ago, but haven't watched it until now.

It is supposedly based on Sawny Bean a Scottish Cannibal from about 400 years ago, who lived with his mostly inbred family on the western shores of Scotland.

The only comparison to that and this film is Sawny Bean is the character's name. He has somehow managed to find a hideout on the Californian coast, some 400 years later, did he have a time machine? How did he get there? And according to the history books - he was captured and hung, drawn and quartered. Well for someone who has lived for 400 years and was dis-embowelled and beheaded, he looked remarkably well - until he dies of a heart attack?

The effects are quite good, featuring one scene where a cannibal cuts the fingers off his victim, then eats them - finger-licking good ;)

The victims here are seemingly just that, do we really care if they die or not - well three die within the first 15 minutes, so we don't have time to care. Later on another family are attacked - they are on the screen for oh, at least 5 minutes and are there simply to show another effect.

I can't really say this film is the worst, I've seen, simply coz I feel asleep before it ended - I re-wound it just to see the ending and to be honest wished I was still asleep.

You know how bad a film is when you look at the time and realise its' only been on for 20 minutes, and there's till another 70 to go *sigh*

I'll give a 2 out of 10, simply because it only cost a £1, though perhaps that is a £1 too much.
