I didn't see the remake of Helter Skelter, but the old TV movie was boring as all hell. Made the Manson murders look like a Lavern And Shirley special. Check out Jim Van Bebber's The Manson Family (formerly Charlie's Family) when it finally hits video in the next few months instead. It's way better.
The book Helter Skelter was dull. The Family by Ed Saunders is more entertaining, but it's wildly inaccurate. Saunders swallows every rumor that he's fed vomits it back up as fact.

I keep wanting to see the one on The Night Stalker, I hear it's pretty good.
