I love Young Frankenstein and I agree it is quite funny.

Psycho Cop (1989) is the last seen movie I watched sense last night.

I've been watching it off and on ever sense I found it finally on youtube.

I've been watching part 2 over the years. Now I finally got to see the original
classic and let me tell you the movie is awesome if you like psychotic killer cop films.

I say go forward if you haven't seen it yet. You wont be disappointed but
I'll leave you guys to decide.

Watched Cannibal Holocaust (1980) today. Possibly the orginal "found footage" horror?

I thought it was pretty good. Not half as shocking as I was expecting, which I guess might be a reflection of the modern resurgence of graphic horror movies and *whispers* torture porn...

There's an overt sociological agenda going on there anyway, in a vein that put me in mind of Natural Born Killers, and I found myself pretty much absorbed by it from start to finish. The characters are all quite entertaining, especially as we come to see exactly what kind of a heartless and egotistical git Alan Yates is. Quite well acted as well imo, with a gritty reality to it.

The animal scenes. Yes. For me definitely the hardest parts to watch (life-long veggie/vegan here...), but the huge fuss about all that just makes me think "hypocrites".

I think Cannibal Holocaust was the first found footage horror film.
I found it more shocking than I expected, and I agree the animal killing scenes were tough to watch. That bit with the turtle went on longer than I would have cared for.

...on gorgeous 720p High-Def. They just don't make films like this anymore.

Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)

I never watched it before, jeez what a naff film. Usually I make it to the end of a movie no matter how bad it is, not in this case though.

Opera

In the hands of another filmmaker, i feel that this would have ended up as just another run of the mill slasher film. But Argento was able to bring tension, fear and an overwhelming feeling of isolation and vulnerability to the movie that really made it stand out. I found the ending to be a little much but besides that i really liked it.

Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI

Watched this one since it was Friday the 13th yesterday. Despite it's silliness, it's horrendous dialogue that seems comprised entirely of cliches and the fact that Jason is shown way too much, i actually like this movie. It's not the best Friday the 13th movie but honestly i never took them seriously after the second one anyway.

Evil dead 2 on Blu last night.
Quality was much improved from my old optimum dvd.
Really enjoyed it again but I think I've seen it far too many times. I've been re-watching the trilogy and I was surprised at how little I enjoyed the first movie almost to the point of annoyance!
