Amnesia & Penumbra
If you like standard Survival Horror this may not be exactly what you are looking for. These games are made by the same people and are straight up terror. Stripping you of weapons, the game makes you feel extremely alone and hopeless, with many surprises along the way. Amnesia sticks you in a medieval like environment, where Penumbra is more science fiction. Check out these videos of the 3 fellows playing it. I suggest turning your speakers down, the screams of the players can sometimes be more frightening than the game itself. Tell me what you all think. Definitely on my near future playlist. Also, they tend to have some bad language in the video from being scared, sensitive ears might not want to watch. I must say, these guys know how to enjoy a game to it's fullest.

i love amnesia, its scary and a great fuckin game. hell i get scared playing silent hill and resident evil sometimes. :(
i never heard of penumbra im going to check it out

I think Penumbra looks scarier myself. Something about always seeing that pale alien right on your tale just scares the crap out of me. Yeah things like Silent Hill I have gained a tolerance for. Nice to see a fresh horror game. If you have Half Life 2, there is a free mod called Nightmare House 2 that is also really good. Here is a video of that. It is also the same guys freaking out as the previous videos.
