-Jason Momoa Plot: IMDB The tale of Conan the Cimmerian and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria on a quest to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. Phantom's Review: Awesome! This was a great movie. Exactly what I wanted in a Conan movie. A story right out of the pulps, extreme violence, gallons of gore, evil witches, sorcery, sword fights and lots of naked woman. Jason Momoa is fine as Conan (his style/look is more Barry Windsor-Smith, than John Buscema) and the film is shot well. I enjoyed it a lot. |

It was good, very good even. The ending was a little anticlimatic but I'm under the impression there is a sequel already in the works so it makes sense really. Plus, there is some extra parts after the initial credits so be sure to stick around for a little bit. This sets the scene for a follow up nicely. The CGI is frankly, amazing. The few laughable parts are, I think, a result of the difficulty of showing increasing intelligence. For that reason, I don't think the film should be criticised as they did well with a difficult idea. They just pushed it a little too far and it became a tad farcical.
