Two words: Zombie baby. Who exactly was smoking hippie grass? That was just utter wannabe exploitative tripe.

Not to mention, sitting around the mall was redundant and unnecessary and they were brought down by a ridiculously STOOPID move. The beginning was fantastic. The VERY end was fantastic. Everything in the interim was silly.

...LOL! Yeah, there was a baby zombie... BUT you gotta admit, it was one hellova creepy zombie baby. I thought the mall sequence was brilliant, in that it makes a valid point about the "human beast". Who are we when we are faced with extreme peril? At what point does our humanity give way to our instinct to survive? It had similar tones to 1980's The Thing, in that the threat outside is just a catalyst for social collapse and the real threat hides within our own hysteria...

...That's what I got out of it. :)

See, I understand the "point" of the mall sequence, but I find it kinda lame. I think that the original Dawn of the Dead made its commentary about seeking shelter in consumerism, but the remake treated it as more of an homage to the original. Also, in terms of the "human beast," I thought that their lax behavior reflected more on the human SLOB. I get the whole consumerism thing. I wanted a continuation of the seige film.

Wicker Man's the worst. No nudity, no cool folk music, no Christopher Lee, no religious subtext, Nicholas Cage runs like a girl and I want to see him drown in his tears of shame.

Some other actor that runs even more like a girl should star in remakes of every film Nicholas Cage was ever successful in. If I had a camera, I'd run around like a girl and splice footage of me into Nicholas Cage movies.

Tell me that wasn't Oscar worthy...
