Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)
An excellent addition to the franchise. Loved every part of it. Great animation, great humor and overall a great family film. >>: A Sleep Dealer (2008) ![]() Very original and impressive idea. Bit slow paced but the portrayal of the future and its look of globalization, immigration, the coexistence of humans and technology and transnational borders were interesting. Aside from director's critique on social and political progress, the story sometimes feel flat. The concept was ambitious & had potentials but eventually leaves a bit to be unsatisfied. >>: B

The African Queen (1951). Classic love story set in an exotic and adventurous setting. Some of the scenery of Uganda was spendid and the river rapid scenes were incredible. Overall a great film.
le petit lieutenant (2006). A slow burner of a French police drama, this flick beautifully protrays the tedium of being a detective, drinking and being silly until the call of duty finally comes. The characters are revealed to be normal, even mundane, and thusly believable. When there is finally a crime to be inspected, it is not the crime of the century, but rather just a typical crime, and typical detective work ensues. The beauty of this film is that it protrays real life without being flat or overly boring. The caracters are perfectly defective, like all of us. Instead of superheroes, we have a collection of drunks, burnouts, racists, rookies, etc. That this mundane collection of people will lead to an event that will change all of their lives is the extraordinary element of this film.
