Just my take on the goth bit...the more cash people seem to spend on that shit (eg $400 boots) the more posey, like kids "playing goth" they tend to look.
I knew one chick who spend $360 on a "handbag" that looked like a tiny coffin, and I mean tiny, the thing was so uselessly small that she had to carry a backup handbag. Ech, please. I've seen some vintage/thrift store goths that look far more the part. Less shiny. Also, whoever said goths are hot...well, it can be an appealing look I give it that. That said, most of my wardrobe is black (I get the "goth" thing sometimes, idiots) so clearly it's a colour scheme I lean towards in taste. Though I've seen SOME goths dress in other colours, purples, crimsons, even white, like...reverse goths. Back to the hot thing - if they let you, check 'em out WITHOUT their makeup, I mean in general makeup is to make you look better and hide flaws, and a fair amount of goths tend to wear lots of it, see what I'm saying? What the fuck is this thread about anyway?
