I found R-Point a bit boring, maybe what I had read built it up a little to much.

Thought the pacing was a bit higher than the usual asian ghost movies.

I guess we disagree then.

It wasn't the pacing that hurt the film and the atmosphere was brilliant, if anything should deduct points from this one it would have to be the writing and acting which was sub-par IMO. It will be on my list as it's a great Asian ghost story but it's not my favorite.

I really need to check them out - It's been a while since I've done an Asian horror marathon, so maybe I'll just throw those up toward the top of my queue.

Any of those your personal favorites more than the others?

29. ringu 0
30. Ju-on: the grudge
31. ringu 2

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Worth mentioning:

1. Spirited away (not really horror, but it contains lots of ghosts and monsters)
2. Tomie - rebirth (not a fan of the Tomie franchise, but Takashi Shimizu's contribution is by far the best in the series, imho)
3. Bhoot (interesting because it's Indian and because of some very good performances by the lead actor and the guy playing the cop)
4. Kwaidan (just because it's a classic)
5. Wild Zero (Cult)
6. Sairen (Because it's better than the games) :D
Where's Godzilla?!

Of those movies - Most of the ones (that I've seen) made it onto the list I sent over to V.

The ones I've seen that I omitted, I find pretty overrated:
  • A tale of two sisters
  • Re-cycle
  • The eye
  • Ju-on: the grudge 2
  • ringu 0

Seriously - What's so great about Ju-on 2? It was SO ridiculously low-budget it drove me crazy. I felt as though he had NO money and just threw together everything he had (which wasn't much) just to capitalize on Ju-on's fame.

...

I know that question was asked, but I think that Paprika should belong on this list.

omg...then what else you have put into the list?

I think it'll be really a bit tough & interesting job to finally compile the list of 100!

Oh yeah...and for sheer off-the-wall audacity, "Wild Zero" gets a vote from me...crazy flick.

"Tsui Hark's Vampire Hunters," that one also is fun, nowhere near as good as "Chinese Ghost Story," but a decent vampire romp with some fairly intense vampires.

Both are included under your entry, crabby. And if they secure a place in the final 100 you will have to write the blurbs.

Noted too.

Wonderful list, Angra. Keep thinking of more. I am a bit skeptical of Bhoot though. It isnt exactly THE best Indian horror flick, and the premise was essentially a re-hash of an episode of a horror series on Indian television awhile back.

I have received quite a nice list from Chrono too. Good job, woman! Keep thinking of more.

I think this will be a Top 100 which will always be open to discussion and future updates, if possible. Although I feel pretty confident in saying that the 100 finalised from the recs now will possibly stay for a long time.

I am waiting for plenty more lists - especially from Despare, Flayed, Urge, Zwoti, Manchestr and everyone else who is into Asian horror.
