Låt den rätte komma in (Let The Right One In)
![]() Gorgeous. Touching. Well-crafted. A wonderful new way to tell the vampire story. Also very dark and macabre, especially the ending. I thought that Lina Leandersson as Eli, the little vampiress was absolutely stunning, charming, and horrifying. Kåre Hedebrant as Oskar, her human friend was a bit of a slovenly rube who got on my nerves a bit, but who was ultimately charming. There were some continuity issues that I'm not sure came from poor editing or got lost in translation, but all in all this was a good film. One of the things that really stuck out to me was its gritty, rough nature - It's not as easy to kill someone as you might think. All in all, I recommend it. 4/5 ... Right At Your Door ![]() Wow. An incredibly intense look at panic and human drama in L.A. when a dirty bomb is dropped and one couple struggles to deal with the aftermath. Gritty, real, horrifying, and absolutely gripping. An intense study of the human will to survive coupled with instinct, panic, and confusion. Brilliantly done, well-acted, and a fantastic script. 4/5 ... Sílení (Lunacy) ![]() Jan Svankmajer, the same director who put together the absurd film Alice fathers an even more self-indulgent preachy piece of experimental European faux art tripe. Attempting to channel the Marquis de Sade and give the finger to organized religion and establishment, Lunacy instead comes off condescending and pretentious. What a load of - 1/5 |
