A: Because Kurt kept shooting his mouth off.

What really constitutes grunge? It's more of an era/place to me (Seattle late 80s - early 90s) because most of it is more Indie/Punk/RnR to me. So my favorites:

Melvins
Mudhoney
Dead Moon
Green River
Nirvana

I think its a rather repetitive genre, not too huge a fan, Bush and Alice In Chains I like though.
