Mickey Rourke - The Wrestler

Just got back from seeing this movie at the advance press screening.

GOOD FILM !

and as i'm walking in .. my buddy hands me this big fat press release kit - signed by Mickey Rourke himself.

I know a lot of people find this stuff goofy and trivial - but this guy has been my favorite actor as far back as i can remember. I don't care that i wasn't able to get it in person ... i jokingly asked my buddy (who interviewed him in New York at the Wrestler press junket) to get me an autograph - and the bugger did it !

I'm eternally grateful !

but yeah ... I think the oscars are crap - but i'd still like Rourke to win one so his second coming can take place - i need me some more Rourke films.

VERY excited for this.

I haven't seen enough of his stuff to really consider him one of my favourites, but I've loved everything that I've seen Rourke in so far. This looks like an absolutely stunning performance, plus I'm a big fan of Aronofsky - very excited to check this one out.

Anyone know when its getting a wide release? I couldn't find anything on Empire Theatre's site...

I'm a fan of Rourke. But most likely wait for this one on DVD.

I caught the trailer of this one at a theater screening. Someone said it will have a limited release later this week.

I cannot WAIT to see this one, it's been on my list for quite some time now. I agree with you about the Oscars, I could care less who is nominated but it's nice to see an actor who has worked so hard for such a long time get recognition like that.
