Anyone thinks the idea of how vampires on Earth from legends came from aliens is the exact idea from the original Vampirella comics? afterall in that comic, Vampirella's original planet Drackulon is the place where the vampires of myths and legends on Earth originally came from including Dracula.
I'm not familiar with that comic, but I know the movie Lifeforce was actually based on a story called The Space Vampires.

They were supposed to be energy vampires - they extracted the lifeforce energy or the soul.

I loved this movie. The last time I posted how much I loved it at another forum I got flamed by the Interview with a Vampire crowd. :(

There's a bit of Bava's Planet of the Vampires in this, but it owes more to Curtis Harrington's Queen of Blood. Ultimately, Hooper was trying to cash in on the Alien movies, but it's still fun to watch, and good bits by Frank Finlay and Michael Gothard. I think this was about the last major film for Railsback. Too bad.
