Hello from a new member: who has a blog!
Hi, folks! Glad to be here with you all.
I am a 49 year old radio professional, who also does some graphics design and website work on the side. I love horror movies, and I started a blog to talk about my favorites, but the spectrum was so broad that posting on a regular basis was a little intimidating. Finally I created a new one that focused on one aspect, and it got easy to add to then. Check out www.SweetSkulls.com. It narrows down the topic to look at the skull as it is used in various mediums such as horror movie posters, spooky sound effect LPs, comic books, etc. I think you'll get a kick out of it, because I not only post images but talk about it as well. I'm big on nostalgia and I hope the site brings back a lot of good memories.

wow, did I get a rude welcome. I had no idea when I posted a new thread that even mentioning another horror blog was verboten. After one rude reply the whole thread was deleted. Guess I mis-stepped there, my bad.
So, I will limit my references in the future. I didn't realise that just telling about a blog with a horror theme was a no-no. Sorry, all!

that was kinda weird...
had a quick look at your blog and it looked pretty interesting to say the least. Dunno why ppl would be hostile to it - even if it it self promotion - you did it honestly and it was horror related... I'll give it more of a read now.. :-)

Yeah, people will probably yell at your for spamming your site with your first post but most members-to-be laugh it off, roll their eyes, and trudge on. I can't imagine what would have got your first post deleted, this forum is usually better than that. I can see a hostile reply being deleted but the whole thread? Welcome anyway.
Oh, and you can tell us about your blog as much as you want, there's no rule saying otherwise (although members will balk... for months). We generally don't have nazi-mods that going around doing things like deleting spam, take a look at some of the new member threads and you'll see that.

Tough it out Skully and you may just enjoy it here.;)
I checked out your site and found it pretty cool. You will find quite a few posters here in the same age demographic as you. I can't imagine why your first post was deleted.....unless someone got really nasty...but that hasn't happened here in ages. Stick around....check out the other sections....and post.

Hey, thanks to all for the warm welcome! Glad the first response I got was not typical.:p
And thanks for the kind words from those that did look at the blog. So far it's a lot of fun. Up to this point I was just surfing around and enjoying other people's sites and horror blogs, but eventually I got to the point where I felt I might be able to contribute a little something personal toward it, and share with like-minded readers at the same time. We all just want to connect with others that we have something in common with. I look forward to many fun discussions here with you all! -Fred
