just watched mathieu kassovitz's la haine (1995).
firstly- thanks alky for being the last straw in getting me to watch this film. i had been meaning to for some time, but your recommendation brought it to the top of my netflix queue. i was more or less blown away by this one. extremely gritty, extremely real, and extremely good. 8.5/10
