The Amityville Horror is tested to the full by It's Alive, but eventually prevails 6-5 in an intensely contested matchup to the finish!!

lmao...this is rather easy to choose, considering the flicks which will slug it out from the Quarter-Finals onwards. Just think - Halloween, TCM, Dawn, Alien, Exorcist, The Omen, Suspiria...

So hammer...are you ready to choose?;)

I just wanted to mention, as I run out to do errands: BEWARE! THE BLOB deserves a mention. Maybe it'll win a round, and maybe it won't (it's a very misunderstood spoof). But it is one of my favorites from the 70's, partly because it really represents the 70's. At least, for me it does!

Oh! And I also wanted to mention that as a curious coincidence, Christopher Lee is now facing off against himself, in a way. For scenes requiring the horrible monster to hang from wire rigs (descending from the ceiling of the ship; hanging up in the rafters; the final harpooning scene) the alien in Alien was played by stuntman Edwin Powell--who many times was Christopher Lee's stunt double in the Hammer Dracula films!
