Primeval

Pretty average giant-crocodile creature flick. The CGI looked good & was hard to detect, but this film coulda have benefited from bloodier kills scenes and perhaps some better actors.

Spaceballs. 06/10

Mel Brooks rips off some of the best sci-fi movies ever made. And its uproariously funnily done. Rick Moranis is a rib-tickler. The "ludicrous speed" reference will tickle really bad. Mel Brooks himself does a really excellent job. The rest of the characters are good too, except the princess who sounds loud and annoying in places.

Recommended.

re: 300
I recently saw a dvd of a title from the 70's (or mebbe 60's?) available at my local shopping centre called "The 300 Spartans", with what seemed to be the same general plot...was this one any better?
I personally thought 300 was alright, but if you had to use a comparison, clearly sin city was a shining example of how much better a film can be when the original author works directly onboard. That said, I loved the visual style of 300, but yeah - not one I'm rushing out to get on dvd anytime soon.

I remember seeing that movie in theatre as a kid, silly movie. I mainly remember having a massive headache that day and the movie making it worse

I saw 300 at the theatre and I actually enjoyed it. I am not one for those types of movies either but it drew you into the characters and stuff I thought, reminded me a bit of Braveheart. I will probably buy it on DVD. I also watched a cool show on the History Channel the other day about the 300 Spartans. They were pretty crazy and smart.
