The Woods (2005)
I appologize if there is already a thread for this, the Search function isn't working for me tonight. Here are some things I liked about this flick:
Set in 1965 Bruce Campbell is good as the 1965 straight-laced Dad Good overall casting Good effects that don't seem like CGI but probably are mostly Good subplots with other girl students Biggest complaint is that it doesn't come together 100%. It does but it is a letdown...

I think "The Woods" is Lucky Mckee's best film....far better than MAY!

First of all, I thought Angela Bettis was in it but it turns out she just does the voice over of something in the forest so I was a little bummed from the get go. I found it interesting in parts, and the lead was fantastic, but I think Lucky was a little out of his depth. He's much better with a smaller cast and quirkier material where he can be inventive and get inside the psychology of the main character, rather than a dark fairytale where he seemed to get tangled up trying to make a few cliches fresh.
His Masters of Horror piece was his best, I think. Looking forward to his lead role in Roman, too.
