Been playing a fair bit on the ol' dreamcast again...I go to a site that regularly re-releases game torrents, and there's plenty I haven't yet played.
At this point I'm torrenting DOA2 (Never played ANY of those), Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves (Never played those either), and something called "virtua fighter History" which I assume is a collection of sorts...

One that I got I've been playing a fair bit is "Guilty Gear X"...Honestly, this game has some of the best visuals I've ever seen in a 2d fighter. Good characters and range of moves...reminds me of Marvel vs Capcom 2 in certain elements, but also stands out well on it's own. Never played any of this series prior, just saw them...I had no idea the DC version looked so crisp and played so damn well...glad I picked that one up.

I still have that "runaway - road adventure" game on my pc...haven't been playing it much really...still wanna see if I can complete it at some point, but right now, I'm not overly concerned. Might turn it on soon for another go, see if it doesn't piss me off.

Also been replaying a lot of Marvel vs Capcom 2 from zero extra characters....this time I wanna actually unlock everyone and everything....probably take ages, but I don't mind playing through it here'n there. Always a fun game with a great range of characters...easy to use too.

Hmmm....the girl has been looking at some demos, and I'll just say that while it's not my style of game (for pc anyways...for console I'd prefer I think), it sure looks good. Game called "Infernal"...I guess if you like games like the punisher, max payne and other third person shooters, you'd like this. Shooter with a demonic twist. Very cool, looks great.
She's also been looking at the game "Bone" based on the comic...looks like a bit of good adventure fun there.

My new work (yeah...I'm an office 9-5er for now...'til I finish my studies, which I'm doing at home, since there's just the theory left now) has Sony as a client...part of what our office does is runs the ps2/ps3 tech line and gaming lines. So, there's a ps3 there. I got to see it and play with it a little something like 3-4 days prior to its release here. Fall of Man looks badass, and some offroad type racing game I checked out that you can play as a motorcycle or car was pretty fun too.
I've gotta say...the ps3, without doubt is by far the sharpest machine out there right now. Yes, I want a wii first, but this here ps3 looks crazy...graphics, loading times, framerates, the silence of the machine, ALL better than the others. The controllers are very comfortable too, and just the right heft to 'em, they've kept largely the same layout as the ps2 with some additional features and what I'd call improvements (the shoulder buttons are now kinda rounded and at a bit more of a convenient angle), but you'll just "know" the feel, which is great.
So yeah....think I'll definately have to pick one of these up... Even though I can afford one just now...I'll wait a few months though, I know this one'll drop in price for long term competition. But yeah, sure does look great.

Oh, and this week, I'll be grabbing F.E.A.R on my pc, which I understand will run it perfectly. Looking foward to that, some...

Ok, so that's what's going on in my gaming world just now...

Kameo I was a little hesitent about playing this at first, but it's actually a very good game.I like the graphics but the controls can be a little difficult at times.

Still working my way through 'runaway - a road adventure'...slowly...frankly, I don't know why...it's fucking annoying as hell. The STUPID things you have to do to solve these puzzles are more like "try to combine every random-ass item you have with eachother and pray for a solution" more often than not.
Very dissapointed, I bought it expecting it to be something like Broken Sword, having said that I feel as though I severely insulted the broken sword games, they SHIT on this one.

I know I said this in another thread, but hey, more people might read it here...last week I found a re-released copy of the sierra/lucasfilm title "Full Throttle", which I never got around to playing, but always wanted to. It was only $10AUD as well...

Another "old" game I found was at an op-shop place that sometimes we cruise into for cds and dvds at a very cheap price. I found a copy of a game I'd formerly played only a little of called "Omnikron - The Nomad Soul" for $3AUD.
I'm not planning on getting into it for a while, but this game always looked plenty interesting to me.

Last night I played a little bit of a game I got for Dreamcast "Blue Stinger"...it's a fairly early game on DC so it's nothing great looking, but seems to have an ok storyline thus far, and feels a lot like "the thing". My main complaint is that the controls aren't that good...but, I think I can play this.

Another one I've been playing a bit of lately is another DC game called "Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolf" which seems to be a spinoff of the FF games, as only one of the original characters that I know of is in it. I like this one. It's not super-fast like some p vs p fighters, the moves are varied and not all that crazy, and the control system makes it easily accessible to the inexperienced player. Pretty decent game.

Beyond Good & Evil

I've had this one for a while and never really got it going. Wonderful adventure/sci-fi story with some endearing characters.

Is that the kind've cartoony one where some kind've aliens land and take over your planet? something like that? You're a photographer?
That always looked cool...I got it for my pc a while back before my upgrade, but it played kinda shitty.
Guess I might see if I can pick it up cheaply again sometime.

Blue stinger on dreamcast can go fuck itself...it's just dodgy. The controls and cam angles completely SUCK, there's no genuine scares, and the game lacks any kinda good atmosphere.

Getting into Silent Hill 3, which is the first one I've played since getting up to the piano scene in #1 and saying "fuck this". This one seems cooler. Also, something that is great, is that (this one's on pc) when I have my 10 button pc controller in, the game automatically customises it to play just like the playstation version. That's cool.

Full throttle I'm playing through slowly, it's pretty good.
