Snatch

Too bad when Return was looking for monologues I forgot this movie...

"Bullet Tooth Tony: So, you are obviously the big dick. The men on the side of ya are your balls. There are two types of balls. There are big brave balls, and there are little mincey faggot balls.

Vinny: These are your last words, so make them a prayer.

Bullet Tooth Tony: Now, dicks have drive and clarity of vision, but they are not clever. They smell pussy and they want a piece of the action. And you thought you smelled some good old pussy, and have brought your two small mincey faggot balls along for a good old time. But you've got your parties mangled up. There's no pussy here, just a dose that'll make you wish you were born a woman. Like a prick, you are having second thoughts. You are shrinking, and your two little balls are shrinking with you. And the fact that you've got "Replica" written down the side of your gun and the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five O" written down the side of mine should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence. Now... Fuck off!"

Not a movie, but I just watched 3 episodes of Maverick

Man oh man, what a great old show! Infinatly entertaining...great plotlines and hilarious characters. Shame the DVD only had 3 episodes, I really have to track down more!

On a related note, has anyone seen the Mel Gibson version? I watched about 15 minutes of it on TV awhile back and it seemed pretty cool; now Im really interested in checking it out after watching some of the original show.

The Queen (2006)

Good. Not the best picture of the year, but still very good.

Yes, I really like Maverick. Mel Gibson, James Garner and Jodie Foster are all great in this film.

A real FUN flick, and the dvd is dirt cheap.:)

Cape Fear (1991)

Brilliant thriller remake from legendary director Martin Scorsese with DeNiro starring expertly. The movie has a kind of Hitchcockian tint to it, and every shot has a deep, haunting glow to it.

Entertainment to the Max. Pun intended.

'Ray' situation? Good film but the only real upper echelon aspect was Helen Mirren?

Yes, in a way, but also no.

Helen Mirren was fantastic...she really did throw down an Oscar-worthy performance, and she's probably the reason the film remained solid for me.

However, if you're a current media/news buff you'll love the political research and connections...my mom was really into the Princess Diana incident (I saw the movie with her), so she was fascinated by the storyline and said the depiction was pretty damn accurate.

It's definately worth a look.
