Im down for it as a symoblic form of representation.

I am ALL for sprituality. I beleive good and bad are all the same. There is a very fine line that defines them both.

I TRULY hate christianity and most "Organized religions". Its a form of mind control.

So yeah, rocking a devil shirt or having a few graphic movie posters in my room are all a form of expression. (to me at least).

But like i said, Church of Christianity, Church Of Satan...if its organized, and has "rules"..they are all the same.

I share similar views with Haunted(at least i think). Although i know nothing about Wicca and Paganism, Through several experiences with halucinagenics, i have come to realize that everything around us is "god". Nature one great spirit. Vibes are all around us.

all 'religions/cults/beliefs' start as a philosphy.
then more people get on board and involve rites and rules to 'enforce' their philosophy.

some are just goofier than others.

Here's a small, very compact dissertation on "Satanism."

It, like every other religion, has a lot of folklore behind it. Although some people will call bullshit, saying that it's just a label attatched to whatever they felt like following, a lot of "religion" is. For instance, modern Satanists point back to Prometheus as a good starting point. Even though the Gods told him not to, he gave man the gift of fire. There can be a lot of comparisons drawn between Prometheus and the Christian "Ha-Satan" or Satan. Remember, satan is a title, not an actual person, which stands for "the adversary." Depending on what you believe, he wanted Adam and Eve to eat the "Forbidden Fruit" (it almost certainly doesn't refer to an apple) either to:

a.) Spite "God" and turn his creation against him

or

b.) Share knowledge because he believed that it should be.

B, of course, is part of the key to modern Satanism. The pursuit of knowledge or whatever you want that's being kept from you.

This, unfortunately, can be mis-interpreted, just like a lot in the bible or any other religion. If you think, however, that Satanism is about running around naked in churches with upside down crosses strewn about biting goat heads, you're sorely mistaken.

This instantly made me think of the Davidians aka David Koresh in Waco, TX. I don't know why but all I could think of is the government would try to bring you down, eventually. There is still a church in Waco for the Davidians , one woman a survivor from the fire who lost her husband and 4 children. I go with follow what you believe. There is consiquences no matter what religion you believe in. I agree a lot of religions preach one thing and do the opposite. It's very bizzare.

Well said.

I myself, belong to the church of "Organisms". I am an organist, or what some call "Organism", and a carbon based one at that.

Not to be confused with an "Oragamist", which worships paper sculptures, or an "Organist"; followers of a bizarre cult that sometimes masquerade as organ players for churches to worship their enormous, pipe covered god.

Sounds like you want to start the "Orgasmists" with your tedious pron and all.

Anyone want to become an "Organism"? The membership fee is pretty light, and we have this crazy story about all life coming from bacteria. Way better than that Thetan bullshit they pimp over at scientology.

Agreed

However...Satanism doesn't involve any type of worship...Which I believe is important in what would be considered a 'religion', although I'm not 100% positive about the exact criteria for determining what a true religion is...

What I DO know is:

Satanism is NOT about worshipping Satan (or anyone/anything else)...Satanists do not believe in Satan

Satanism is a belief in YOURSELF

Satanism denies the existence of influential power from ANY external force (deities, nature, crystals, etcetera)...Satanism is a belief that there is no higher power than each human individual

A TRUE Satanist believes that HE alone has the power to make his life what it is, good or bad...That only HE has the power to cause change in his life by his own actions...He believes in himself, has faith only in himself, doesn't depend on anything else, and takes responsibility for his own actions...A Satanist never says "Please God, help me"...Or..."The devil made me do it"...Get what I'm saying?

Seri calls it 'narcissism'...

It doesn't really seem like any type of 'religion' to me...But, I suppose it's a matter of perception

Good to 'see' you, too :)

I agree with what you said...But, I would add..."especially those who do not know what it means, and associate it with some sort of devil/demon"

haha...I look better when I m not "visible" around...if you know what I mean...:p

very true indeed. Most of the dumb f***s dont even know what it means, and just follow others in what they do. Its a classic case of one blind man leading another through a dark alley.
