The Dreamcast thread.
Yup...goin' back in time for this one...
So, I personally think the DC was a great system - in it's (comparatively) short life, a truly excellent library of games was produced. Graphically brilliant, not too far off the ps2...and of course, it went online way WAY before the ps2 or xbox finally managed to do so. So...who here had/has one? What are some of your favourite games? I remember I really LOVED "Record of Lodoss War", one of the most original and fun to play action/rpgs I'd ever seen...great atmosphere, music and gameplay. Marvel vs Capcom 1&2, Soul Calibur, Carrier, Illbleed, Sword of the Beserk, Soldier of fortune, Bomberman online...among plenty others, these were great. Also, while we're here I have a slightly ulterior motive...Since I've figured out that even in the face of the latest wave of consoles (Although the wii might be an exception with its oldskool compatability) the last console I was TRULY happy with was the Dreamcast. I've thought about this for some time, and actually started looking for one on ebay. A few sellers claim to have them brand new...some refurbished. So, I'm gonna get one. Back in the day I last had a DC, I had me a supplier that had pretty much everything available. I lost contact with 'em. I know the games aren't impossible to burn, so hey does anyone know anyone that does 'em? Alternatively, if you know how to download/burn 'em that'd be good...you could either tell me how or make a few bucks by doing them for me...if anyone can help out in this here quest, that'd be cool. Thanks.

oh man.. I never had one but my friend did.....All we did at his house was play house of the dead 2.. got pretty good to, even to the point we beat the game with out dying once. But yeah playing sonic, marvel vs capcom and all does games..Great system I truly belive that if it stayed around it would of evetual put out a better system and but Sony and Microsoft to shame.

I have one, I enjoyed Shenmue probably the most of any of them.

I go to a site where I can still regularly download the games via torrent. I've got MOST of what I want already, about 50 games I've yet to play...great library on this one.

Agreed! The Dreamcast was truely the best. I loved:
Quake 3 Arena DOA 2 Shenmue ( Shenmue 2 was the whole reason I bought an X Box) Resident Evil 2 Alone in the Dark 4 Soul Reaver 2 Jet Grind Radio ...and so many more! I still have mine and an unopened one. They were selling for 50.00 at the end. |
