F.e.a.r.
Did anyone else play this all the way through?
I absolutely loved it. it had an incredible amount of atmosphere. it was the constant shit-in-your-shorts feeling that Doom 3 had, but that fatc made the scary stuff even worse. You would be in the middle of a gunfight, then end up in a dark office with blood dripping from the ceiling, then that creepy little Samara clone Alma would go walking by.... Paxton Fettel is probably the deepest game villain ever, and that is coming from a hardcore Half-Life 2 fan (Breen and the GMan are GREAT, but Fettel is godlike) It has the most amazing cinematic qualities i have ever seen in a game; The designers were clearly horror movie fans. And it has the absolute BEST twist endingof any game ever made. I was literally petrified by it. Hell, the last 15 minutes of the game were so intense, i had to pause at some points to stop shaking. there were parts where I was literally terrified. Who else had a similar experience?

If they made it for PS2 or Gamecube I would have bought it the day it was released. Looks like an awesome game, but I cant stand games on the computer. Hate the controls.

Blasphemy. Your puny consoles could not handle somehting this complex well. Plus, you can always buy a gamepad for the pc, nonbeliever.

It is worth a hardware upgrade, but if you must go the console route, do so. The game is way too good to pass up. Think the action style of Max Payne with the intensity and physics of HL2, with the "AHHHHHHHH" scares of Doom 3, all together with a coherent, involving, DEEP plot.
And probably the greatest game ending ever. I'm not kidding, i cant express enough how "HOLY SHIT" scary it was. The weapons and enemy balance is very good. The AI is brillianbt. i have never seen anything close, even the combine soldiers in HL2 werent that smart. The slow mo is a major tool in the game, and explosions in slow mo are probably the coolest visual effect i have ever seen in a game. Paxton Fettel is an awesome villain. Much much more interesting than most video game bad guys. And trust me, it will take you no time at all to get past the visual similarities between Alma and Samara. Some tips: Reaqd all laptops or computers that have email, and listen to all voicemails. the plot is great, but you have to pay attention. The game also plays some great creep out tricks with the atmosphere that havent really been done before. i wont go into it, i dont want to ruin anything.

I wanted to play it so bad, but John wouldn't let me. ::tear:: but we watched him play it and got McKee to scream like a girl. Good times, good times. :p
