Horror Day, Oct. 13, 2006

You're here because you love horror. Let's unite and spread the word about our love for horror on Friday, Oct. 13.
http://www.myspace.com/horrorday

Each horror reader/writer/lover/fan is invited
to do ONE thing that day to let the world know they appreciate horror. The list is endless, but for starters, the obvious choices:

Buy one horror book
Do a store signing (for writers)
Give away one horror book
Tell the local bookstore about the event or ask them
to give a discount for horror books that day (for
indies)
Write a press release for the local paper
Make a Listmania list on Amazon
Check out a horror book from the library or ask them to order a book
Speak about horror at the local high school or library
Ask stores to create a horror display for Halloween
Talk about horror at the local writing group
Have people post on a "Why I love horror fiction" blog
Send out a note to newsletter subscribers asking them to take action
Give an article on horror to a newsletter or writing site
Writers, visit www.horror.org for a press release to send to local news outlets
Line up a radio interview or horror chat
Read “scary books” or tell ghost stories to children at the library
Host a horror movie night at your place
Go see or rent a horror movie and tell the store about your favorite movies

And, of course, the best publicity is when you get coverage of your publicity, so we should start some message board/blog discussions about “What I’M going to do on the Horror Day of Action”

Let's pass it on!

Scott
