Even though it took around 50 minutes to pick up, I thought it was worth it for the end. I love realistic horror, and while we're too desensitized to really be scared by a movie like this, it's still satisfying to watch.

And the based on a true story thing gets me every time.
It scared me a little bit.... way scarier than a lot of stuff that spews out of shit directors mouth's these days.

Wow I don't know what i'm on but to me this movie was complete crap. For me there wasn't enough blood, or kills. I did think that the storyline was good though. When I seen based on a true story, I though yeah ok. They need to start putting LOSELY based. Also I was wondering, I seen the % rate at the start it said 90% people go missing are found and 10% are not. Does anyone really know how many people go missing every year from aus. Is anyone on here from there ? The killer Crocidle Dundie :D

Maybe there weren't enough kills because it was based on true events... I thought it was fine, if you don't like realism horror then don't watch it.

While I wouldn't call it complete crap, I didn't really like it either. It's worth a rent, sure... but don't buy it.

The first half of the movie is boring as hell... but it's boring for a reason. That reason is to make you identify with and have sympathy for the characters. That's a good reason... but it didn't work for me. When the crap hit the fan, I still didn't give a rat's ass about any of them, and as things went on I just wanted them to die so that I could watch something else. I don't know what else they could have done to fix that, all I know is that what they tried to do didn't work.

I will say that there are some very tense moments in this movie. They pulled those off quite well, and some of the 'shocking' scenes are quite entertaining. The violence is quite well done. Whether you'll actually be shocked or not is up to the individual viewer.

But as a whole, it was just another "Crazy Guy Killing People You Don't Care About" movie and was nowhere near the hype that surrounded it.

And to clarify things, despite what you see on the back of the box, the movie is not based on true events. It is INSPIRED by true events. There is a difference. The movie-makers took the actions of an australian serial killer and wove a fictional story around it, using bits and pieces of things that the actual killer really did. But the *story* of what *exactly* happened to the three *specific* people is pure fiction... and so they could have made it as tame or as bloody as they wanted to without being bound by reality. But really, putting three or four more people into this movie just so they could die in new and interesting ways would have only made it worse. Bloodier, yeah... but not any more 'shocking' or 'horrific' than it's already supposed to be.

Based on true events ,show me the proof and then I will believe it. So I guess TCM really happened ?! Like I said in my above post pretty much every movie is LOOSLY (SP) based !

Well I didn't expect who was going to die to actually die, but I didn't really like this flick. I thought it would be a lot more graphic, I thought it was a bit overhyped.

Plus that young Aussie dude was just fuckin' annoying to start the flick.

I actually though they were all going to die. It was actually quite sad, especially the girl *minorspoiler* in the garage, just because she had it pretty rough.
