umm..through the eyes of a serial killer..
autobiography of Sam, or pick a whole
stack of titles..and make your own assumption...analyze..scrutinise and criticise..
Try not to use too many quotes from the author ..but put into your own perspective.
Btw...em lecturer with a B.A in teaching..
we may be on the other side of the world but as a faculty member..i can tell you now..we appreciate students who submit work like this...G.L :D

Danse Macabre - Stephen King

By the way, there's an older thread in the Books section that you might want to try to find, it has a bunch of suggestions.

yeah - there was a thread (at least one i think i started about a year ago - and i'll search around for that one)

the one i really liked - and it was 'academic' though well-written and not too 'jargony' was called Projected Fears: Horror Films and American Culture. . .

I also really liked a book by Carol Clover called Men Women and Chainsaws (cool title - a bit psychoanalytic for my taste).

i'll try to find the thread and post the link.

good luck

i liked her book - never seen her in person (though i did see her in that documentary American Nightmare, which is really good with lots of interviews with Romero, Carpenter, Craven, Hooper, etc. - anyway, of all the talking head academics on the video, I thought she made the most sense)
