SciFi's "Bloodsuckers"

Hey creepies!

After watching "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2003) three times this week, I felt like checking out the new stuff and flipped to SciFi's "original" series "Bloodsuckers". I figured that SciFi was on a roll with some of the programming gold they've been able to mine lately ("Battlestar Galactica") and I suppose they wanted to flex a little horror muscle.

Well, I have to say that I only lasted about 20 minutes. (Please excuse the wimping out midway, but read on...) I just couldn't stand it anymore. The characters were ripped right out of "Aliens". The acting was pretty wooden and it was mostly plotless. It was rank with lousy-played emotional moments and lacked any nailbiting tension. Sadly, after giving it a chance, I finally tuned away.

What do you think of this futuristic vamp tale? Better yet, aside from the terrible acting, what would you do to make it better?
