German Movies

I'd just like to recommend a couple of films I've seen recently on DVD that have come from a country that is not usually associated with good movies.
Although not strictly horror Ithink they have the elements and ingredients that appeal to horror fans.

TATTOO is a "Seven" style thriller that is very realistic and gritty with plenty of gruesome scenes and a menacing atmosphere.

DAS EXPERIMENT is about 20 normal law abiding citizens who reply to an advert requiring volunteers to play the roles of prisoners and guards in a mock penetentiary. They are monitored on CCTV by doctors and scientists who are studying what happens to humans when faced with extreme circumstances.
Obviously things go a liitle wrong and violence ensues.

I haven't seen either of these movies, but "Das Experiment" has got to be based on the real-life experiment conducted at Stanford University.

It's very interesting.

i highly recommend as well "der untergang" which was released not too long ago here. it's about the last days of hitler as seen through the eyes of his young and loyal secretary. i don't think i've ever seen a more true or icy portrayal of hitler.
