From IMDB

Due to its shoestring budget, the prop department had to use the cheapest mask that they could find in the costume store: a William Shatner mask, from Devil's Rain, The (1975). They later spray-painted the face white, teased out the hair, and reshaped the eyeholes.

Amazing isnt it? the cheap shit becomes a cultural icon, while really expensive shit (like the bugs from Starship troopers) get forgotten after a few years

Yeah...Just like George Romero's shoestring budgeted, black and white, Night Of The Living Dead...Compared to...Umm...Well, pretty much ANY of the multimillion dollar bullshit cranked out these days:rolleyes: ...Including it's own remake, which wasn't exactly BAD, but certainly not as GOOD, or memorable

A better example might be The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, made with virtually no money at all...Compared to it's highly funded remake...

Another good example of the original being far better than the remake would be "The Time Machine" 1960. Sure the effects were cheesy but a much better movie than the 2002 version.
