Exclamation Halloween Horror Displays Angering Americans!

Quote:
The most tasteless Halloween display EVER: ISIS-themed diorama featuring a hanging US soldier, Jordanian pilot who was burned alive and a terrorist in an Obama mask sparks outrage in New Jersey

Politically-charged Halloween statements have seldom been successful in the past - and this one is proving no different.

A family in New Jersey have upset some in the community of Butler for decorating their home with what they say is an 'anti-ISIS' theme, using a hanging mannequin representing a United States soldier and a terrorist standing nearby wearing a mask of President Obama and brandishing a machete.

Behind the scene is a depiction of Jordanian pilot, Lt. Muath al-Kasaesbeh in a cage. He was horrifically burned alive by ISIS after being captured following the shooting down of his jet fighter earlier this year.

While some neighbors have called the set-up 'tasteless and un-American', the homeowner said that real horror is more frightening than fake.

'We in this house do not like ISIS,' the homeowner, who asked that he only be identified as Matt, told NJ.com.

'What greater scary man is there than the real threat among us?'
However neighbors do not agree.

AlexJo Natale, who lives across the street, said Halloween is for children - not for adults to be controversial.

'I think it's tasteless and un-American,' she said.

'Like it or not, Halloween is now viewed as a kids' holiday.

'That's not (a house) I would think a lot of parents would want their kids trick or treating at.'

Matt said his decorations have been vandalized since gaining media attention.

But Matt is not the only Halloween fan courting controversy.

A front yard in Ohio is upsetting just as many for the gruesome fake corpses strewn all over.

Even though Halloween is more than three weeks away, the yard - in Parma - already contains a cocooned corpse hanging from a tree, a body impaled on a stake and a cadaver upside down on a cross!

People have complained to the city about the display, but Parma officials said there is nothing they can do because the family has a right to freedom of expression, Local 12 reported.

Vicki Barrett and her husband may 'tone it down' if they find out that children are being frightened.

Then again, they might not.

The second ones are great, but I still do not think its appropriate for someone's lawn. It takes control away from a parent who would not want their kids to see violent depictions. Its not like a tv channel or website you can block.

The first one is just fucking ignorant and foul.

Dont agree with the first one but I love the second one. Wanted to do the hanging body in a tree thing but I had the trees in my yard cut down.

Do you think people should be allowed to wear clothes with curse words?

Absolutely. Curse words do not cause behavioral problems, nightmares, anxiety, etc in children.

Horror or depictions of do not cause behavioral problems, nightmares, or anxiety in children. Poor parenting does. Exposure helps to cure these issues. Hiding it intensifies them.

Meh. I wouldn't decorate with that much gore on the outside of my house, but that's just a matter of personal taste. I wouldn't care if my neighbor had a display like this.

It's not the nature of the display that doesn't interest me. It's just that in my opinion, they aren't all that creative.

If we had room for the second one, I could see myself doing similar. Although England has a different view on Halloween.

We had bloody hand prints on the wall and garage door and had people taking photos.

Maybe one day we will embrace it more instead of it being seen as just for kids
