"The Brothers Grimm" movie opens in U.S. theaters this weekend. This much-anticipated film is one of the rare projects by visionary director Terry Gilliam. Besides being part of of Monty Python, Gilliam is the genius behind incomparable visual and mental creations such as "Brazil", "Adventures of Baron Munchausen", and "Twelve Monkeys". Strictly speaking, Gilliam is not generally a "horror" director, but his films are infused with elements of fantasy and violence that have endeared him to many fans of the horror genre.
With the new "Brothers" movie, Gilliam has joined forces with some big name actors, including Matt Damon (Saving Private Ryan, Good Will Hunting), Heath Ledger (Monster's Ball, The Order), and Monica Bellucci (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Matrix Revolutions, Dobermann), to recreate the story of the legendary Grimm brothers with his own twist. In Gilliam's version of events, the brothers are wandering the countryside offering to protect people from magical beasts which do not exist - until the brothers run into a town where magic be real after all.
Horror.com's own Staci Layne Wilson had a chance to sit down with Gilliam, Damon, Bellucci, and several other people involved with the project. Here is the video of those interviews. Enjoy the interviews and the film as well:
